Stereo Power
The Mesa Boogie Stereo 2: Ninety power amp features two channels and 90 watts per side, giving you portable access to real valve tone for the studio or the stage. The 2U chassis is compact enough to take to any gig, while the 90 watts per side is the perfect volume level for any gig, rehearsal, or recording sessions. The twin channel power amp can be parired with any Mesa Boogie preamp and a pair of speakers to create a compact yet powerful stereo setup.
6L6 Power Tubes with Simul-Class Power
The 6L6 power valves give the Stereo 2: Ninety a powerful and crisp sound with the ideal volume level for almost all gigging players. The amp features a fixed bias which provides easy, maintenance-free operation. Simul-Class power provides the best of Class A and Class A/B technologies: each channel features 2 separate power amps with one pair of 6L6s in Class AB for punch and headroom, alongside the other 2 6L6s offering the warmth and complexity of Class A operation. If you want a three-dimensional valve amp tone, the Stereo 2: Ninety’s Simul-Class power is the perfect foundation for your setup.
12AX7 Preamp Valves
The Stereo 2: Ninety also features 3x 12AX7 preamp tubes which helps warm up your sound and gives a more complex tone with increased overtones. The active Presence circuits on each channel brings out the special harmonics that distinguish this as a guitar-specific power amp, and not simply a “hi-fi” power amp. The Presence control can help you cut through the mix with a bold, articulate and bright sound, or it can be used to round off the top-end for a warmer sound. This combination of power amp and preamp valves gives you the same, high-end amplifier response you’d expect from any Mesa Boogie amplifier, just in a compact 2U rack chassis. It is the perfect partnership for any Mesa Boogie preamp and speaker cabinet(s).
Smart Power
Mesa’s Smart Power modes give you access to 3 different amp responses: Deep extends the bottom for huge low end; Half-Drive knocks down the wattage for a low power clip; and Modern brings forward an aggressive top end for tight tracking crunch. Smart Power is remote switchable and can integrate with MIDI or external foot switches.
